It has been a great season for our Dahlias here in Tauranga. We’ve had quite a lot of rain and the garden is just thriving. Here are few pictures of some gorgeous flowers. Dahlias are so good as they just keep on and on giving. Keep trimming off the flowers as they finish and they will reward you with a whole new crop. Stunning!
With Spring well underway our Daffodils are just popping up everywhere. We visited one of our growers last weekend and came back with three buckets chock full of flowers – we were just in seventh heaven! Anyway, thought we would share a picture.
We have lots of new varieties that will be in our Daffodil catalogue next Autumn. And the exciting part is we will also be running a competition in our summer catalogue to name a brand new variety. So…. watch this space.
We just love watching every day for new Daffodils to pop out. Even though we are a couple of weeks into Spring, the weather is still cool but we do have loads of Daffodils to remind us that Spring really is here. Here are a couple of our favourites – well for this week anyway! The first is Daffodil Curly – wavy cup starts orange and matures to yellow against nice white petals. The second is Daffodil Spellbinder – lovely long yellow cups that fade as they age and with lighter petals. All just gorgeous!
