Lilies from Heaven

Winter is our favourite time of year as it is lily planting time. One of our favourites is Oriental Lily Conca D’Or. This photo was taken in our garden last summer. The plants get taller every year and increase more and more. The result is just amazing from both colour and fragrance.  They are easy to grow nationwide – pop them at the back of the border as they reach 2 m high!

Lilies

The Lily season is approaching and we have the first of our Oriental lilies out in flower. These are from imported bulbs which is why they are flowering so early.  Pictured in the deepest red of all Oriental Lilies – Montezuma.  The colour is remarkable – really deep burgundy and of course the perfume goes without saying.  !

Also we have Lake Carey.  Really large flowers, deep pink with darker markings.  A lady rang us the other day saying she had one of these out in flower and said she had never seen such a spectacular flower! Wow!

We are now working on having Oriental Lilies available all year around – more of that later.  In the meantime look at our gorgeous Amaryllis bulbs – available now on our website.
